Trust Services
DayOne PACT serves as trustee for individuals with disabilities. Whether it is an OBRA ‘93 Payback Trust or a Special Needs Trust, we are experienced in managing the multiple responsibilities that are associated with these types of trusts.
Working with our financial institution, we can ensure that the assets of the trust are used to meet the needs of individuals in a cost-effective and responsible manner. We are also capable of working with established trustees when a bank, trust company, or family trustee finds that social service decisions grow beyond their ability and means to effectively implement procedures.
As an independent, not-for-profit organization, our focus is on the beneficiary of the trust. As a social service agency working regularly with state and federal entitlement programs we are up to date on how these programs interact with trusts. This is crucial in ensuring that trust money is not spent on items for which government entitlements should be paying. Also, we are able to avoid situations where the trust could become compromised because of an incorrect expenditure.
We can serve as the sole trustee, or as a co-trustee with a family member or financial institution. Another option would be for DayOne PACT to be identified as the trustee and a family member or friend as Trust Protector. DayOne PACT can also be hired by a trustee to provide case management services for the trustee on a fee basis.
The specific roles that DayOne PACT can fulfill in trust work are:
- OBRA ‘93 Trustee
- 3rd Party Trustee
- Disability Trust Trustee
- Living Trust Trustee
- Nursing Home Trust Trustee
- Trust Protector Case Management
- Independent Case Management
