Welcome to DayOne PACT

If you are reading this and are new to DayOne PACT or if you have been a friend for many years, I want to welcome you to our website.  Our mission statement says we are here to help people with disabilities live supported, productive, and meaningful lives.  It is our hope that these pages help us accomplish that goal.

The times we live in are providing some of the greatest opportunity for persons with developmental disabilities.  More people than ever before are receiving the services and supports they need to live the lives they want, where they want, and with the people they want to be with.  We are seeing the slow but steady reduction of people being forced to live in state institutions far from family and friends.  We see society changing its attitudes regarding people with disabilities in the workplace.  But there remain significant challenges ahead.  There are still too many people waiting for services across our service area in DuPage, Kane, and Kendall Counties, and Hanover Township of Cook County.  There is still a lack of meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities after they finish with their schooling.  Housing options are all too often less satisfactory than most people would want in their own lives.

DayOne PACT is proud to be a partner for persons with disabilities in these times of change.  We are serious about our role of helping to ensure that people with disabilities are able to successfully navigate the myriad of rules and programs they face in finding services.  We work hard to ensure people with disabilities have a real say in their satisfaction with the supports they receive.  We understand making decisions is tough and having an advocate who can provide support and guidance helps all of us to live the lives we want to live.

As you look over our website, I'd ask you to consider how you can help us in our mission.  Most of our funding comes from the State of Illinois.  It provides the foundation for our services but like most non-profit organizations, the services we're asked to do often cost more than the state pays us.  You can help by becoming a partner with us.  Telling a friend about us, and donating to us are all ways you can help us help more people.
